Train service has been cancelled due a “security concern” after a woman was reportedly attacked on board a train.
News24 reports that the woman, who was identified only as Ms. L, was on board the train on Monday afternoon and suffered “multiple” stab wounds.
She was taken to a hospital in a critical condition.
A statement on the L train website read:”Following a ‘security concern’, we are cancelling all trains on the route.”
The train service was due to operate for around two hours on Tuesday afternoon, but it was cancelled and a replacement train scheduled to take over.
It is not yet known if the attack was linked to the train’s departure from the city centre, which is also home to the National Rail Museum.
Police have appealed for information about the attack and are urging anyone who may have seen Ms L on the train to contact police.
